Safe and non-invasive chemical peels

At The Beeches Clinic we are committed to providing our clients with comprehensive medical grade skin care. Out of this commitment came a synergistic ‘meeting of minds’ with the brand AlumierMD.
AlumierMD was born out of an understanding that everyone wants clear, beautiful skin. AlumierMD focus on the science behind great skin, researching optimal ingredients and concentrations to create prescription-strength formulations for a wide range of skin concerns. They are committed to formulating safe products without the use of chemical preservatives like parabens, BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene).
Great skin starts with identifying and understanding each of our client’s skin profiles. Through a range of multifaceted, results-oriented skin care products we can target the underlying physiology related to each skin type, condition and person. We want our clients to be treated like individuals. Through the AlumierMD skin care line we can customize each individual’s needs for optimal results.

The Beeches Clinic (AlumierMD) Chemical Peels

We offer the ‘next generation’ light- to medium-depth peels known for their excellent results and safety profile. We believe in repeated treatments for progressive and gradual results, and to avoid the side effects and downtime associated with deeper, more aggressive peels.
Chemical peels work by deeply exfoliating the surface layers of skin forcing your body to quickly replenish it with new cells. When peels are performed regularly, the skin gets used to this process and begins to rejuvenate itself like younger skin. To be sure that the body doesn’t react to this deep exfoliation as it would to trauma, which can lead to pigment changes, exfoliation must be introduced gradually giving the skin time to adjust.
We will complete a thorough skin analysis and recommend an individualised treatment program to address your skin concerns. We will then create a personalised program that combines professional treatments with home care products, since they work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chemical peels are designed to gently resurface the skin, stimulating new collagen and cell production as well as reducing:

• fine lines and wrinkles
• scarring including acne
• pigmentation
• uneven skin tone.

An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

We ideally recommend a course of three treatments. However, your skin should start to feel softer, firmer and smoother after just one week post-your first in-clinic procedure. After four weeks, your skin will continue to look brighter and more radiant with improvements continuing throughout the course of your treatment.

You may feel some mild itchiness or discomfort as the glycolic acid starts working on your skin. This does not tend to last more than a couple of minutes however before the peel is neutralised and your skin is soothed.

Salicylic acid (BHA) is a superior exfoliant for skin, but when used in high concentrations for skin peels it is considered a risk when you are pregnant. You can consider using Glycolic acid or Lactic acid (AHA) exfoliants as an alternative during pregnancy. We advise if you are pregnant to discuss this with our skin care expert.

Skin peels can be an ideal treatment for a wide range of skin complaints, including acne, uneven skin, age spots, enlarged pores, sun-damaged skin and dark areas. By removing the damaged outer layers of skin, chemical peels give your skin a fresh start in the purest sense of the word.
